Our Team

Jason Olsen is the Founder & CEO of IMAGE Studios. Jason started his first business at the age of 16, launching a specialty automotive parts and accessories website under the name www.street-looks.com. As the company grew he began selling products all over the world, eventually importing and private labeling his own line of automotive lighting under the name “VisualFX”. He sold the company seven years later in 2004, and made the move from his hometown in Atlanta, Georgia to Salt Lake City, Utah to attend Brigham Young University. He then got involved in the automotive retail business and built and scaled an independent dealership to multiple locations and 90M in revenue.

During the recession in 2009, Jason discovered the strength and resiliency that the beauty industry holds, and ventured into the salon suite sector. He launched a modern and luxurious salon suite business model, and in June 2010 IMAGE Studios was born. In 2016, he launched the franchise arm of the business and today there are IMAGE Studios salons open all across the United States. Eventually, he will take the company into international markets that are ready for the IMAGE business model.

Jason was a finalist for the 2017 Ernst & Young’s, “Entrepreneur of The Year” Award and a graduate from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. He also serves as a board member for Skin Works School of Esthetics, board chair of Equality Utah, and is an advisory board member for the Westminster College Social Impact Business Incubator. IMAGE Studios has been recognized for its outstanding growth as an INC 5000 company, as well as the Mountain West Fastest 100 growing companies and the Utah 50 Fastest growing companies. IMAGE Studios has also been recognized as INC Magazine’s “Best Workplaces” in 2022. In his spare time, Jason is a private pilot, drone enthusiast, trail runner, and avid skier.

Taylor has managed operations for IMAGE Studios since 2019 and was named #1 in 2022’s 175 Top Franchise Influencers by 1851 Franchise. Taylor has worked 20+ years in business management running operations and designing training programs for multi-brand companies nationwide – with the last 18 years specific to the health, wellness, skincare, and beauty industries. Taylor has traveled the country teaching business operations, leadership, and continuing education courses to industry professionals, business owners, and company executives. Under Taylor's leadership, IMAGE Ranked #160 in the top 500 franchises by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2021, top 100 Franchises by Franchise Dictionary, and Mountain West's top 100 list. In 2022, IMAGE was named Best Workplaces by Inc. Magazine, made the Fast 50 list with Utah Business, and ranked on Inc.'s 5000 list of America's Fastest Growing Companies!

Taylor lives in downtown Salt Lake City, UT. He can be found traveling, exploring the mountains, and enjoying local food, bourbon, and beer with great friends!

Lizzie was appointed Vice President of Operations in November 2021. Over a 15 year career with experience in marketing, operations, and communications, Lizzie worked in the political world in the UK. She has partnered with several Prime Ministers to build successful campaigns, combining traditional and cutting edge marketing techniques. At the forefront of winning elections, Lizzie has a drive for success along with an eye for successful strategy. Lizzie brings winning operations to IMAGE Studios along with expert advice and management. Away from Operations, Lizzie and her husband love to travel, as well as enjoy the beautiful Utah landscapes. Being a British expat, she is always on the hunt for a good cup of tea.

Marcia is the Vice President of Real Estate & Construction, she works with the Real Estate Brokers and Project Management Team to help franchise owners find their salon locations, execute their commercial leases, and help them through constructing their IMAGE Studios salons! Marcia’s career has focused on retail real estate and development for multi-unit companies both in corporate and franchise models, predominantly in the med-spa space. Marcia has an extensive background in commercial real estate as well as design and construction development which make her an integral part of the site selection and build-out processes for our franchise owner. Marcia and her husband Kasey, along with their two sons, live in Tampa, FL. They spend a majority of their free time volunteering with their sons' sports teams, fishing in Tampa Bay, and attending Tampa Bay Buccaneers football games!

Brandon is a Franchise Development Director who works with qualified candidates who are exploring the IMAGE Studios concept as a way to meet their goals of business ownership. Brandon has been in a variety of franchise development and franchise consultant positions for nearly 20 years, working with new, emerging, and established brands in the United States and Canada. The majority of Brandon's career has been focused on beauty and wellness franchises, which brings him full-circle to the mission of our salon suite brand. Using a genuine and direct approach, Brandon aligns candidate's values with the values and culture of IMAGE Studios. He previously participated in the Certified Franchise Executive program through the International Franchise Association and has attended numerous franchise educational events including the Franchise Management Courses at Georgetown University. For 13 years, Brandon was a mentor for Big Brothers Lone Star, the largest Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in the world. He also served as the Mentor Program Director for 3 years with Major League Soccer’s Dynamo Youth Academy. He lives in downtown Houston with his partner Erin, 9 year old son William, and two crazy rescue dogs Zoey and Ruthie.

After exiting Corporate America, John started a number of businesses. This led him to franchising, and ultimately, development at IMAGE Studios. John has been very successful in helping people find great opportunities in business ownership through franchising. A big reason for this is that he seeks out brands that have made large investments in talent and infrastructure in order to grow the brand and support the franchisees. This is why John joined IMAGE Studios® in 2021. What originally impressed John the most about IMAGE was the training and onboarding process- their franchisee’s entire roadmap to success is laid out in front of them.

In 2021, IMAGE Ranked #160 in the top 500 franchises by Entrepreneur Magazine, ranked Top 100 Franchises by Franchise Dictionary, and made the 2021 Franchise Registry. John and his wife Nicole live in Denver, CO with their two children. They enjoy spending time outdoors in nature, especially near water. They are avid concert goers and frequent Red Rocks!

As Director of Operations, Daniel is committed to setting new IMAGE Owners up for success. He guides them through the onboarding process and with software implementation, tracks key data, and provides detailed financial reports. Through personalized 1:1 business coaching, Daniel helps optimize recruiting strategies—ultimately driving higher occupancy in various markets and strengthening owners’ businesses. In addition, he oversees corporate stores, ensuring operational excellence and performance, and leads training sessions to further support growth.

With a strong background in investment banking and software sales, Daniel brings a strategic mindset and analytical approach to every challenge. Based in Salt Lake City, he enjoys the mountains, catching a good sports game, and frequently traveling back to Austria to visit his family.

Miriam is a Sales Manager at IMAGE Studios, supporting our Franchise Development team in ensuring successful communication and achieving goals. Miriam has 10+ years experience in sales, education, customer service and people management. They graduated from the University of Utah with a double major.

Miriam has a strong passion for volunteering and working with folks who are socioeconomically disenfranchised. Through their passion for volunteering, they have worked with many individuals from diverse backgrounds helping to develop their interpersonal skills. Miriam is a true old soul. They love spending their free time with their loved ones and researching new topics of interest. You can always catch them listening to music at any time of the day...or night!

Matthew Landis, in cooperation with our corporate team, franchise owners, and beauty, health, and wellness professionals, is the lead creator and facilitator of IMAGE Pro® educational programs. “As someone who’s worn almost every hat in this industry, I know firsthand the triumphs and challenges of turning what you love into a thriving business. At IMAGE, we strive to empower our professionals to build a stronger business foundation so that they can make more money and have more time for the other parts of their lives that bring them joy and fulfillment.” Matthew began his career in 1995 in Salt Lake City and expanded his career experiences to New York City, Atlanta, and Miami Beach in the early 2000s. Matthew returned to Salt Lake City and managed Sanctuary Day Spa, before going on to build several salons, including Landis Lifestyle Salon in 2005, and later Matthew Landis Atelier in 2018. Matthew has been an educator for industry leaders Aveda, Davines, and L’Oréal Professionnel. He also served as the first Director of Aveda Institute Provo. For eighteen years, Matthew was a regular guest as the official beauty expert for the top-rated lifestyle show, Good Things Utah, on the local ABC affiliate. Matthew was a pioneer with the IMAGE Studios brand, assisting in brand development, education, and even running his own business from IMAGE Studios for several years. In addition to his partnership with IMAGE Studios, Matthew is a business coach working with solo-entrepreneurs to meet the challenges that come with running a business and being the business. Matthew lives in Palm Springs, California with his husband, Steven, and their two dogs, Bruno and Ruth. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah. In his spare time he loves learning new things (he’d stay in school forever if he could), traveling, writing, and spending time with friends.
